Is Your Business Eligible for Google Ad Credits?
Everything You Need to Know About the SMB Google Ads Credit
From declining revenue, layoffs and the threat of closure, small and medium sized businesses around the globe are feeling the harsh effects of COVID-19. Google is coming to aid, pledging $340 million in Google Ads credits for SMBs in an effort to alleviate the financial strain of staying in touch with customers.
Eligible advertisers, those who have had an active Google Ads account since Jan. 1, 2019, will receive notification of available credits in their Google Ads account in the coming months. The credits are valid throughout 2020 on all campaign types, including Search, Display and YouTube.
Here’s the original announcement from Google:
We want to help alleviate some of the cost for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to stay in touch with their customers during this challenging time. That’s why we’re giving our SMBs worldwide $340 million in ad credits, which can be used at any point until the end of 2020 across our Google Ads platforms. SMBs who have been active advertisers since the beginning of 2019 will see a credit notification appear in their Google Ads account in the coming months. This is part of a larger commitment from Google to support SMBs, health organizations and governments, and health workers on the frontline of this global pandemic.
While there are still some questions left unanswered, such as how much each advertiser will receive, it’s a step in the right direction to keep the backbone of our global economy afloat.
Why Use Google Ads?
Google Ads are an effective way to market your business online, and have insight into which messages are working—and which are not. Whether you’re looking to increase sales, generate leads, get your name out there, or just want more visitors to your site, there is a Google Ad solution for that. Often used as a supplement to your organic search (SEO) efforts, they can be a great way to see immediate results.
In addition to the Google Ads credit available for SMBs, Google has also long offered starter credits as an incentive for new advertisers and qualifying nonprofits are eligible for $10,000 USD in in-kind Google Ads advertising every month.
