We are proud to announce that TrueLine Publishing was recently named one of the 2016 Best Places to Work in Maine.

The Best Places to Work in Maine program, created in 2006, recognizes companies that have established and consistently fostered outstanding workplace environments.

“Earning the ‘Best Places to Work’ designation is exciting for TrueLine Publishing because it reflects our longstanding commitment to create a work environment that people genuinely enjoy and can be proud of,” says Haj Carr, TrueLine Publishing founder and CEO. “It is also important because it shows the effort we put in to honor the most valuable resource of any organization – our staff.”

The 2016 list is made up of 75 companies in three size categories: small (15-49 U.S. employees), medium (50-249 U.S. employees) and large (250+ U.S. employees). To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have at least 15 employees working in Maine
  • Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity
  • Be a publicly or privately held business
  • Have a facility in the state of Maine
  • Must be in business a minimum of 1 year

TrueLine Publishing, with 40+ employees in its Portland, Maine, office, and remote team members in Washington, D.C., is in the small category, with 18 businesses making the list.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the Best Places to Work in Maine. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics; worth approximately 25% of the evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience and satisfaction; worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation.

“We all have to work to live, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be both meaningful and fun. Making this list is a great indicator that, as an organization, we are headed in the right direction.” — Haj Carr, CEO & Founder TrueLine Publishing

TrueLine Publishing will be recognized and honored at the Best Places to Work in Maine awards ceremony on October 4 and will be profiled in a special publication by Mainebiz. The final rankings will be announced at the event. TrueLine was also recently nominated for a 2016 Entreverge Award, which recognizes greater Portland’s next generation business leaders.
